Parent's Responsibility / Code of Conduct

Registration and Travel Information:

Parents or guardians are hereby required to ensure the submission of all necessary forms and information, including payment, to confirm the proper completion of Teen Camp registration. It is imperative that accurate contact information and travel details, including but not limited to passports, visas, and check-in identification (where applicable), are provided.

Medication, Handling, and Use:

Parents or guardians must ensure that their teen possesses all required medications in their original packaging, accompanied by clear instructions for use in an emergency. Furthermore, parents must verify the accuracy and validity of all medical information contained within the registration form.

Spiritual Preparation for Teen Camp:

Parents or guardians are encouraged to discuss potential challenges their teens may encounter during camp, including, but not limited to, interpersonal conflicts, methods of resolution, communal living, and the risk of injury. Discussions should also encompass character development themes such as selfishness, gratitude, humility, and perseverance, utilizing scripture to foster an open and receptive mindset in preparation for the event.

Respect for Others and Adherence to Rules:

Parents and guardians must emphasize the importance of respect, politeness, and compliance with all camp rules, as these elements are essential to the overall effectiveness of the camp experience. Campers will be made aware of behavioral and parental expectations regarding compliance with authority figures. Upon arrival, a comprehensive review of the camp’s disciplinary procedures will be conducted.

Proper Packing:

Parents or guardians are responsible for ensuring their teen is adequately packed with suitable clothing and all items listed on the provided packing checklist (see Packing Checklist above). It is strongly advised that items be limited to avoid excessive packing, as campers will be accountable for transporting their own belongings.

Encouragement of Regional Unity:

Given our region's diversity and rapid growth, parents and guardians are encouraged to motivate their teens to maximize their camp experience by forming new friendships, participating in various activities, and sharing openly. The guiding principle is to “Leave with no regrets.”

Electronic Device Policy:

Parents or guardians must discuss and reinforce the camp's policy regarding electronic devices, specifically mobile phones. Campers will not have access to such devices during the camp.

Note: Mobile phones may be accessed through camp leadership in exceptional circumstances as deemed necessary.

By acknowledging and adhering to this Parent's Responsibility/Code of Conduct, parents and guardians affirm their commitment to ensuring a safe, respectful, and enriching experience for all participants at Teen Camp.
